BlackVue Legacy App Reviews

After seeing the other reviews being so negative I have to leave a review. Using Blackvue with wifi is pretty amazing to me. The picture is HD sharp and clear. Reviewed a few of the one minute recorded segments today on the iPhone over wifi sitting in the garage. Great picture night and day. So far, works as advertised. Works like the reviews you can find on the nets.

Very barebones simplistic app. Why not improve the UI? Give the ability to save directly to camera roll? Desperate need of a revamp.

Good working app but if I can send to You Tube why cant I email a video?

Once I use this app, even after I quit out this app, my iPhone stay warm and run down my battery very fast. Power management may be very bad!!

Please give update or something, my phone wont connect cam via wifi.

Good app for iPhone, however I would like to see a native iPad version that is easy to use in landscape mode.

My phone connects to the wifi, but then tells me there isnt a camera. The whole reason why I went with Blackvue (I bought three of them) was for the wifi function and if that doesnt work Im going to have to return the camera and get a different brand. Please fix the software! (Looking at previous reviews I see that this had been a problem for quite a while...)

Cant connect my iphone via wifi!!! And thats the only reason I bought it...

When using my iPhone I select; settings, Wi-Fi, "BlackVue", I select and connect to "BlackVue". When using the BlackVue App (Ver 1.3). I open the App, I select Wi-Fi, and the App says connecting and then times out. Then it says "Could not find the BlackVue". I am unable to connect to my DR550GW-2CH using my iPhone. I am using the latest version of the BlackVue App, 1.3 and firmware for DR550GW. This used to work but now does not.

Not bad. App does often crash when saving firmware settings and firmware upgrade drop down does not list my model (DR500GW-HD) but overall it works well. Id give it 5 stars if it wasnt for the crashes.

App crashes when playing video moved to iPhone. Does not ever connect to Youtube. Wifi connection to Blackvue device is hit or miss, typically requires you to turn wifi off then on again on Blackvue device. Time/date stamp doesnt work (even after updating within settings). UI is not very intuitive. Gave 2 stars out of the kindness of my heart...probable should be 1.

only have 750 firmware

Video non-playing & other ui issues with iOS 8.1 and iPhone 6. Downloading video via wifi is super slow. Finding video is not really convenient. The app must be much better to accomplish the awesome dash-cam hardware.

No DR550GW-2CH English 2.004 firmware? Only Korean one.

I mounted my camera upside down, while the camera is good and I can rotate the video, I cant record the time stamp on the other side. I hope this can be fixed.

Over all works great I own both the 600 and 500 black vie series camera and this app works awesome with both.

Pittasoft, your app does everything it is supposed to do as far as features; however, please update the resolution of the app so it is optimized for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus!

Lack of clear instructions resulted in an initial review rating of Junk. Connecting to the camera is like connecting to any public WiFi hotspot. At home, right next to my router, the connection to the camera was unreliable - only worked once. Once in the car, with the camera being the only WiFi nearby, it connected instantly. At this point, the rest of the app works nicely. The downside is that the phone doesnt know its a camera (and not the internet) so it tries to use the WiFi connection for everything else. Dont know if theres someone to blame or thats just a side effect of the design. Not a big deal though because you typically dont need the WiFi connection all the time. Just when you want to watch recorded video, live pictures to adjust the view, or to tweak camera settings.
